Build Robust Financial Services Applications with CockroachDB and AWS

To meet modern customer demands, financial service applications require some of the most stringent database requirements when it comes to resiliency, scale, data consistency, and data locality (to enhance compliance and performance). In order to meet these requirements and address business challenges, leading financial services organizations are modernizing their data infrastructure as part of their journey to cloud. Join AWS to learn how and why banks are using AWS along with modern, cloud native databases such as distributed SQL to support innovative applications for consumers and businesses across the world.

Riskified’s lessons learned migrating to CockroachDB for greater scale

Riskified provides an all-in-one fraud prevention and chargeback protection solution for 750+ e-commerce merchants. The company’s core Chargeback Guarantee application was built on PostgreSQL which wasn’t able to keep up with Riskified’s growth requirements and the company is in the process of migrating to CockroachDB. In this session, Harel Safra and Yoav Shemesh will discuss Riskified’s migration strategy and share lessons learned.

How Superbet migrated from NoSQL to the cloud to simplify expansion to new markets

Superbet offers sports betting and virtual games and has experienced tremendous growth, expanding to 12 markets in Europe. Initially, the company leveraged an on-premises NoSQL database for its ticketing engine and metadata management. However, as the company expanded rapidly, the team needed more resilient data, simplified operations (no sharding), and a path to the cloud. In this talk, the team will discuss Superbet’s decision making process, why they ultimately chose CockroachDB, and provide tips on migrating to the cloud with CockroachDB.
