Superbet offers sports betting and virtual games and has experienced tremendous growth, expanding to 12 markets in Europe. Initially, the company leveraged an on-premises NoSQL database for its ticketing engine and metadata management. However, as the company expanded rapidly, the team needed more resilient data, simplified operations (no sharding), and a path to the cloud. In this talk, the team will discuss Superbet’s decision making process, why they ultimately chose CockroachDB, and provide tips on migrating to the cloud with CockroachDB.
